another book link-up thanks to Kate - love!

Don't you just adore the blogsphere?? This morning I had ABSOLUTELY nothing to write about. I thought about writing about the frigging COLD weather. It's like -40C with the wind shield factor outside or about how hard it is to walk in -40C weather since my daily goal is to walk 10,000 steps. But then I decided to link-up with Pink Hells, Pink Truck and Life with a side of coffee since their link-up as to do with BOOKS. Thanks Kate !

What are you reading right now?
I am reading La Poussière du Temps - Sur le boulevard - tome 3 by a French Canadian author named Michel David. This author always writes tretralogies (fancy word that means 4 books... I needed to look that one up!). What I LOVE about this author is that he writes stories that revolves around families during the late 1890's through 1950's and all of his stories are based in Quebec - a lot of history!!

Out of the 16 books that will be turned into a movie adaption, which one are you most looking forward to seeing this year?? See link.
Without a doubt, The Fault in our Stars. I bawled reading the book so I can just image what I am going to look like in the movie theatre.

What was the worst book you've ever read??
I love to be entertained when I read. I usually read the first 100 pages of a book... and if I need to force myself to read... I usually ditch the book. I recently couldn't finish The Last Letter from your Lover by Jojo Moyes. :(

What foods or beverages have you spilled on a book while reading?? Anything good??
I can honestly say that I have not spilled anything good on a book (maybe only a drop of coffee here and there), however, back in the 1990's my dog destroyed a copy of Mommy Deareast by Christina Crawford.  Was that a sign or what??

Do you picture characters as popular film or tv actors?? Or do you create a whole new person in your head?
Sometimes I do but not always. Like recently, I read House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout and since it is her memoir, I was able to google pictures of her. It turns out that she is a dead ringer to Princess Kate but if you would have asked me what she looked liked.... I would have said someone like very thin and ugly!

Out of all the authors you've read books by, who's brain would you want to pick the most?
I am a huge Lisa Genova fan, therefore, I would love to find out where she comes up with her ideas!

This was fun… !!!! I will definitely be back next month for another link-up!

what bidou told me once

The following is a true conversation that occurred a couple of years ago between my darling husband of almost 10 years and myself... don't worry we are still happily married!

Me: "Do you think if we wouldn't be married, we would at least be Facebook friends?"

Bidou: "I really don't think so!"

Me  : "Why?"

Bidou: "You know... we don't have a lot in common"!

Me: "okay!"

Note - For some reason, I cannot get this link-up button any smaller!
I guess Amanda really wanted to make sure we did not forget to link-up lol!!

pets are people too - bath time!

Jade and Oak

This week, I have been an unreliable blogger.  On Monday, I posted a great Part 1 of my tops reasons why you should stay at the Secrets The Vine in Cancun Mexico and promised a Part 2 on Tuesday.  Well Part 2 will probably be posted next week since I am still working on it!  Please be patient!

Today I am linking up with Jade for Pets are People too.  Any reason is a good reason to talk about my favourite girl in the house...Kloé.

I try to get her groomed every 5-6 weeks.  I just adore her when she is smelling perfum-y and when her fur is silky and white. My Dad (her grandpa) dogsat while we were in Cancun last week. And when I picked her up last Saturday, she was grey and smelly.  Her next grooming appointment is only scheduled for December 23rd, therefore, I decided to give her a bath myself for the very first time. And she loved it!!

How often do you get your dog groomed??

bidou the man behind the blog - part 2

Once again, I am linking up with Mal Smiles and Never The Same Spice Twice for Boys Behind the Blog.  I participated last month (here) and realized that it was a great way to showcase my most favourite person in this world ~ Bidou, my darling husband.

I write many of my posts during the day at work... working and posting... why not! So today (yesterday when you are reading this), I e-mailed my husband asking him to answer these questions. Since he is so task oriented... he promptly answered the questions.

I laughed out loud at some of his answers... especially, number 1.  I didn't realize that Sophia Grace and Rosie were considered a band\musician!!!

Q. Who is your favorite band/musican?
A. Sophia Grace and her 5 year old cousin Rosie. They always bring a smile on my face whenever I listen to their songs.

Q. What was your first CD/tape?
A. Cheek & Chong tape. They had made a "special" tape of one of their movies…later got all my tapes stolen from a friends car…I couldn't understand any of the lyrics back then because I was not speaking english at all. To be honest, I am totally unsure why I ever bought that tape and I remember paying $13.97 for it in a "liquidation" bin at the local drug store.

Q. Who was your first concert?
A. Not sure I even attended a concert in my life so I will have to ask my wife just to make sure before I can answer that question!! …I have absolutely no artistic vibes in me. I was even kicked out of the Christmas Choir when I was a kid due to "gross under qualification". My parents were devastated with that news but I was a happy kid because that meant that I could go play ice hockey at the outside rink behind the village Church instead of going at Choir practices even though temperature was often reaching -40 Celsius!!!

Q. What is your favourite Thanksgiving food?
A. MASHED POTATOES...OF COURSE! That was a dum and obvious question.
(side note - my husband LOVES mashed potatoes.... and always complains that I don't serve it enough!)

Q. Finish the sentence: I am thankful for...
A. The persons that bumped into my life along the way. From as long as I can remember, they all seem to have appeared for some reasons.

After being married for 8 years, my husband still surprised me with some funny answers to these questions!!

Were you surprised by some answers that your "man" answered???

Pet Link ups are the bests

Karly Kim

A little past 3 pm and nothing posted yet since I have absolutely no idea what to write about today. I've been rushing to finish an assignment that is due today for an on-line course that I am taking (yes, doing homework during work hours!) until I visited Amanda from Voyage of the MeeMee and noticed that she had linked up with Karly Kim and Jade and Oak.  Don't you just love the domino effect of blogs??

And the subject of the link-up is "Pets are People too"... jackpot... my favourite subject of all time - KLOÉ

I work in an office and my husband works from home. The following is an excerpt of our daily text conservations:

Me: "What are you doing?
Bidou: "working"
Me: "Did you have lunch?" (note that my hubby does not eat if he is not reminded...!)
Bidou: "yes"
Me: "Did you take Kloé for a walk?"
Bidou: "yes"
Me: "What is Kloé doing?"
Bidou: "sleeping"
Me: "Where is she sleeping?"
and here is where my husband usually texts a picture of her sleeping....

Do you usually ask about your pet whereabouts to your husbands??

10 favorite things link up

I LOVE link-ups. I am a new blogger and I am still learning the ropes. I have found that linking-up is a great way to find inspiration and I am making a ton of friends doing it... bonus!

Today I am linking-up with Brianna that blogs over at Endlessly Beloved.  She hosts a monthly Ten Favorite Thing link-up. This month's theme is 10 things you are thankful for and here is my list:

First and the most important is that I am thankful for being healthy.  Without your health there is literally not much living.

The second thing on my list is that I am totally thankful for Bidou.  He is the best husband a girl can have. He spoils me rotten!

Third... I am thankful for having such a nice Dad.  My Daddy is my best friend and my hero. I love him to pieces and pray to God every day that he will be among us for a very long time.

Fourth... thankful for having a full time job. We use the extra $$$ for all the extra stuff we enjoy!

Fifth... thankful for all the books I can read.  Reading is the best pastime ever!

Sixth... thankful for Kloé.  She has only been with us for a short period but she brings so much joy and laughs to my life.

Seven... thankful for Starbucks coffee.  Especially, for Grande Skinny Lattes :)

Eight... thankful for all of the vacations we take.  I try to enjoy every moment of every trip.

Nine... thankful for all of my extended family and friends.

And for number ten... I am very thankful for this list to be over since I can not think of anything else.... :)
